Dear Capital Remodeling Inc.,

I wanted to let you know how please my wife and I are with the replacement windows you have just installed in our house. It is one of many home improvement projects on our list. Knowing how important and costly this project could be, we have been carefully searching for the right company to do it for us, and now that it is done we couldn’t be happier about it. The Capital Remodeling Inc. crew was very polite and professional and the workmanship was excellent. The windows themselves look terrific and add beauty to the house. I would strongly recommend your company to anyone who is considering replacement windows, Thank you  Capital Remodeling for a wonderful job!

Sincerely,

New Windows and Texcote Paint!

RE: New Windows and Texcote Paint!

Date: July 20, 2009

ATTN: Mark Vandegrift

Dear Mark:

Joe and I wanted to update you on our “new house” and to thank you and the multiple teams at Capital Remodeling Inc. that played a part in transforming our 30+ year old house! What can we say – in April, we had old, drafty metal windows that we couldn’t either fully open or fully close, and the original aluminum siding that at this point was faded, stained and mildewed.

When we met with Jason, the Capital Remodeling representative, he not only walked us through multiple options to improve our windows, he introduced us to the Coolwall option for our siding, With a lifetime guarantee, this new paint technology is just amazing! At this point, our home is snow white, and with brand new windows and gutters, we feel like we are living in a brand new house. The windows we selected are wonderful – you can open and close them with ease, plus they are very secure and exceptionally energy efficient. After years of no fresh air, we have thoroughly enjoyed the ability to get that fresh night air whenever we want it!

We particularly want to mention the professionalism and expertise of Capital Remodeling Inc.’s installation teams. The window team installed all 14 of our windows in one day, and was particularly attentive to ensuring that nothing inside or outside of our home was damaged. Our only delay was waiting for 2 months of continued rain here in Maryland to pass in order to schedule our Texcote paint job! That was an amazing process that first cleaned every inch of the house, applied a primer, and then final coat. With the final addition of brand new gutters, we were delighted to see the final combined product appear. Every member of the Capital Remodeling team: sales, installation, and management took extra care to keep un informed about the status of our remodeling job, pay attention to our specific needs, ad follow through on the smallest details that in the end make the difference between a good job and a quality job, That, plus a highly competitive price really made this a winner for us.

Thank, Capital Remodeling Inc! We are delighted with our New Home!

Capital Remodeling, Inc. Painting Techniques

Wall Painting Techniques

Author: Paint Splashes

Thanks to Capital Remodeling, Inc.

Do your walls seem dull and uninviting? Do you long for a cozy, welcoming room? Consider decorative wall painting techniques, such as sponging, ragging, stenciling or stamping. Even if you have no experience, you can brighten even the dullest room quickly and cheaply with one of these easy decorative wall painting techniques.

Before painting your room, pick out a color scheme for your walls. When you chose your paint, remember that many painting techniques use two shades of one color. If you are using one of the techniques that does use two shades of color, you can pick a darker color than you normally would chose for your base color, since the lighter top color will make the final result much lighter.

To sponge or rag a wall, paint on your base color and let it dry thoroughly. Then, dip your sponge or rag into the lighter paint color and sponge or drag the lighter color over the base coat until you are satisfied with the effect. If you are unhappy with your final result, you can repaint any areas that you don’t like with the base coat. Once the repainted area is dry, repeat the faux painting technique.

If you are considering using a decorative painting technique such as stenciling or stamping, you may just want to create a wallpaper effect by stamping or stenciling a simple design over your base coat. However, you may want to go a step further with your project and use stencils or stamps to create a faux brick or stone wall. You don’t need to be an artist to create one of these faux finishes. Just follow these simple steps. First, paint the walls with the color you chose for the mortar between the bricks or stones. Once the base coat is dry, stamp or stencil your bricks or stones over the base coat. Once the brick or stonework is dry, spatter a bit of the darker color over your faux art to give it depth and make it appear more realistic.

Creating faux effects such as making your walls look like they are made of plaster or suede can also really make your room stand out. You can easily learn how to create these seemingly difficult finishes at your local paint store. Paint bases that automatically give a suede or textured effect to the walls are a shortcut that even artists use to create fun finishes.

Finally, no matter which decorative wall painting technique you choose, remember that it is just a few layers of paint. You can always redo the finish on your walls as you learn more about the art of decorative painting.

Capital Remodeling Inc

Capital Remodeling Inc.,

I recently had vinyl siding put on my house by Capital Remodeling Inc. and I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the results.  A few years ago I had Capital Remodeling Inc. put windows in my sun room and that project turned out beautifully as well.  I am very happy with Capital Remodeling Inc.

Everyone at Capital Remodeling Inc. is very professional and friendly.  During each of my free estimate appointment everything was explained to me and then it was all carried out 100%.  There were no surprises.  The Capital Remodeling Inc. workers arrived on time and worked until the project was complete.  The debris was hauled away leaving nothing behind.  Working with everyone at Capital Remodeling Inc on both projects was a wonderful experience for me.

Thank you very much Capital Remodeling Inc. for helping me make my house beautiful.

Sincerely yours,

Capital Remodeling Inc

Capital Remodeling Inc.

I just wanted to send Capital Remodeling Inc. a thank you note to express my true appreciation for a job well done.  I am completely satisfied with my new kitchen, which Capital Remodeling Inc. installed in November.

The reputation Capital Remodeling Inc has for excellent work preceded them, and that is why I called only Capital Remodeling Inc. to remodel my kitchen.  I heard great things about Capital Remodeling Inc. so I expected quality work.  Thankfully, Capital exceeded my expectations.

The entire process from design to completion went so smoothly.  The Capital Remodeling Inc. representative was very knowledgeable and helpful.  He explained several design options and even had great ideas for my kitchen that I hadn’t thought of myself.  I was truly impressed by his expertise and professionalism.

That Capital Remodeling Inc. installer did an excellent job. He paid attention to even the smallest details, as well as protected my appliances and floor while he worked.  The installation was quick and the results are fantastic!  Me new cabinets are beautiful! I especially enjoy the convenient and practical features that make my kitchen seem twice the size and my new countertop is so attractive and easy to keep clean!

Please comment the Capital Remodeling Inc. employees on my behalf for such great work.  It was a pleasure meeting everyone.  Thank you, Capital Remodeling Inc., for making my kitchen the envy of all my friends and neighbors.  I have already recommended Capital Remodeling Inc. to several of them who plan to remodel their own kitchens. I also look forward to replacing my windows with Capital very soon.

Capital Remodeling, Inc.

Capital Remodeling Inc,

To Whom It May Concern:

We just want to Congratulate Capital Remodeling, Inc. and its employees for a superb remodeling job in our home.  We are thrilled with the windows, kitchen and bathroom that Capital Remodeling, Inc. installed.

Since Capital Remodeling, Inc. installed the windows first I will comment on them first.  They are beautiful and work perfectly. We had several windstorms in March and the windows that Capital Remodeling, Inc. installed were quiet, never rattled and kept the draft out.  The sliding glass door is a dream to work, unlike our former 40- year old sliding door that we could barely budge.  The Capital Remodeling, Inc. installers were fast, polite, neat, and friendly.  The entire job was done in one day and I would recommend these windows to anyone.

The next project that Capital Remodeling, Inc. installed was the kitchen. Oh, my, what a difference!  I cannot compliment the Capital Remodeling, Inc. employees that did all of the work enough.  The Capital Remodeling, Inc. workers are top notch!  They are skilled, capable, friendly, trustworthy, clean, polite, and timely.  They gave extra attention to all of the detail in the kitchen and made it work!  Family, neighbors, and friends have all come in and have been amazed at how gorgeous my new kitchen is.

Finally, the bathroom that Capital Remodeling, Inc. was outstanding!  The bathroom came together perfectly.  Between our ideas for that bath and the help of Capital Remodeling, Inc. employees, we created a masterpiece!  You could show our bathroom in Better Homes and Gardens. The shower is large for my extra tall husband (6’6”) to take a shower and not have to get on his knees and wash his hair.  The tile work that Capital Remodeling, Inc. did is also fantastic.  The tile work is fantastic and the Corian shower base is durable and fits our needs perfectly.

I would highly recommend Capital Remodeling, Inc. to anyone and offer my comments or phone number to anyone that would like to discuss Capital Remodeling, Inc. further with me.

In our opinion, to be the recipients of the quality workmanship, fair prices, and a beautiful outcome that Capital Remodeling, Inc. offers, is somewhat rare and extremely gratifying.

Thank you to everyone at Capital Remodeling, Inc., you’ve made a huge difference in our home.

Most Sincerely,

Lisa

Capital Remodeling, Inc.

To Whom It May Concern:

What refreshing surprise to find honest, hard-working individuals in today’s world!  In August, I talked to a Capital Remodeling, Inc. representative about getting replacement windows for my house (built circa 1975).  He was very informative and even bought samples.  My late husband and I had researched this once before and had not settled with any other company, until Capital Remodeling, Inc. I liked what they had to offer.  Capital Remodeling, Inc. is the best for quality, performance, and price.

A gentleman from Capital Remodeling, Inc. came on my scheduled day off and measured the windows.  He was very polite and measured each window twice.  I felt that Capital Remodeling, Inc. knew what they were doing.

I received a phone call from Capital Remodeling, Inc. stating that my windows were in and ready for installation.  After it stopped raining, a date was set for November 7th.  It was a rough start, because the truck broke down, but they came shortly thereafter on November 10th.  Capital Remodeling, Inc. sent out 3 able-bodied gentleman who very polite to install our new windows.  I was amazed with their experience.  They removed all the old windows and even vacuumed any residue inside the house.

We had moved all the blinds, and furniture away from the old windows and I watched as the Capital Remodeling, Inc. employees took out the old ones.  My children (Ages 9, 10 and 16) were pleased with the ease of the sliding glass door replacement by Capital Remodeling, Inc. and their bedroom windows.  I was pleased with overall appearance to the house.  It certainly gave it a much nicer look!  Now, since Capital Remodeling, Inc. installed the new windows, there are no more drafts of cold air coming from any of the windows.

I highly recommend Capital Remodeling, Inc. to any one who needs new windows.  Thanks Capital Remodeling, Inc. for an outstanding job well done!

Sincerely,

Maria

Capital Remodeling Inc. Fights High Gas Prices

Capital Remodeling Inc., one of the largest window remodelers in the United States, is running a unique direct mail piece in a few select areas that gives homeowners $50.00 in free gas just for getting a free quote.

Capital Remodeling Inc. has always tried to be innovative when trying to find new ways to reach homeowners in need of updating their homes. “Now the big thing is gas prices,” says Ronald Clark, a manager at Capital Remodeling. Homeowners are not going on vacation as much and are cutting back on other luxury items. “Capital realizes that homeowners are busy and their time is important” says Nathan Hall another employee at Capital. “That is why Capital is giving $50 in free gas to homeowners in a few select neighborhoods this month to reward the homeowner for just for getting a free estimate.” Capital Remodeling Inc. understands that if they are able to meet an additional prospect and demonstrate the effectiveness of Capital’s highly advanced windows in how much the homeowner can save on their current monthly energy bills as well as see an increase in their home’s value, Capital Remodeling will often earn themselves another happy customer.

With the housing crisis still in full swing, there is definitely less work out there and many companies at this point are doing whatever they can to drum up even a little business. Now is a great time for homeowners to get the best deal on work done to their home. But “buyer beware” warns another manager, “Many home improvement companies will offer the world, but how strong really are those company’s lifetime warranties of the companies that provide the cheapest deal?” It is important for homeowners to know that historically an astounding 90% or more of new home improvement companies go out of business within the first 5 years. This of course is even more scary in today’s market. If a homeowner buys new windows from the cheapest new company out there and the window seals fail causing a film to develop on the inside of the double pane windows and the company went out of business, even with a lifetime warranty, the homeowner is often left out in the cold, literally.

Capital Remodeling has a 20 year plus proven track record that gives homeowners an extra feeling of confidence even in today’s economy. Capital Remodeling also has a metal-free seal on their windows which is one of the most technologically advanced spacer systems in the world. Most windows nowadays are sold with argon gas, which is a clear harmless gas that is denser than air and is inserted in between the two panes of a double pane window. This argon gas helps a replacement window manufacturer reach a better energy saving value on their windows. What most homeowners don’t realize is that most spacer systems in double paned windows will leak this argon gas over time. Capital Remodeling’s windows have a revolutionary spacer system has been tested under a German, Canadian and United States test to maintain 98% of their argon gas for over 20 years. This is a huge improvement in the window field.

Capital Remodeling also proudly states that they have thousands of referrals throughout the states they service and actually display some of their customer’s feedback on their website

Capital Remodeling Inc. provides free convenient in-home quotes throughout their service area.

Life Time Paints from Capital Remodeling Inc.

House Painting Tips - Do Life Time Paints Really Last?

House painting with life time warranted paint certainly offers some benefits that go beyond the capabilities of a 25 year paint. However, are you really getting the endurance you believe you are getting. I am frequently asked by my customers if I believe they should use a life time paint, and I usually respond by telling them that it depends on what their expectations are.

The first thing you need to consider is: what are your expectations from life time paint? Are your expectations realistic?

Paint manufacturers love to sell you on the idea of life time paint. It’s good business for them. It’s certainly easy for you to fall for this seemingly incredible warranty, considering the cost of having your house painted these days, but are you getting what you believe you’re getting.

There are 4 basic reasons you will need to repaint your home.

1. The paint you have now is faded and looks tired and dingy. 2. The caulked joints of your home have separated allowing water enter.

3. There are places where the paint is peeling.

4. You decide you are tired of the old color and want to change it.

Let’s take a closer look at these four reasons in relation to life time paint.

The truth is, life time warranted paints fade with exposure to sun light and weather, so if you are expecting it to look fresh 25 years from now, then you have been misled. First, you need to read the warranty of the life time paint. Most warrantees state that they cover excessive fading. Notice this does not mean “no fading”. It reads the same as a lesser grade paint. Life time warranted paints lose their clarity in color over time. Now your back to the 1st reason you needed to paint to begin with. Yes, it will maintain its fresh look longer than a lesser grade paint, but not a lot longer.

Paint really doesn’t play a role in caulk separation. Caulked joints separate due to expansion and contraction of the materials that constitute your home. Life time warranted paints can’t stop this movement; therefore, reason number 2 will still be in play if you paint with life time warranted paint.

For reason number 3 you have a clear advantage with some life time paints. Some life time paints are up to 70 percent ticker and have a greater ability to stretch. When it comes to peeling substrate, this is important, because a paint that is 70 percent thicker and more flexible will make it much harder for the underlying paint to peel and release. Most warranties do not cover inner layer peeling, however, most life time paints do give a limited warranty against peeling. It is possible that the inner layers of paint are so compromised that the problem extends beyond the capabilities of life time paint. This is especially true if the wood on the house wasn’t primed before the top coat was applied when the house was built.

Check the specification of the paint carefully. Some life time paints are not thicker than 25 year paints, therefore can’t offer the same protection as the thicker life time brands when it comes to peeling.

How many people want to live with the same color on their house for the rest of their life? I haven’t met anyone yet that could say they did, and I have been in this business for over 25 years. The truth is most people like change. The fresh new look of color change is important to most folks.

The strongest reason for using life time paints really may have nothing to do with the points listed above. It may have to do more with the fact you are planning to change the color.

Life time paints can save you money.

If you are planning on changing the colors of your home you may want to consider using the life time warranted paints. They can actually save you money, even though they cost nearly double the price of 25 year paint.

Consider this: If your planning to change colors, you probably will need two coats of paint, which will cost you an extra 60 to 70 percent on average. Often you will be able to cover with one coat using a life time paint because it is a thicker paint. The difference between the cost of using one coat of life time paints and two coats of 25 year paint is going to be between 1,200 and 1,400 dollars. That’s considerable savings.

Most manufacturers of life time warranted paints are counting on the average person moving every 6 to 8 years. The warranty is non transferable. If you do stay in the home long enough and make a claim on the paint, they will prorate any refund on the paint only, but not the labor.
